WORK EXPERIENCE

These are some of the major projects and positions that I have held. For further details and information, feel free to reach out.

GUATEMALA INTERNATIONAL IMPLEMENTATION PROJECT - PROJECT ENGINEER

A year-long planned international engineering project that took place in Paraxaj, Guatemala. 10 engineers traveled to Guatemala in June of 2019 to implement an $85,000 successful water distribution system of 16,000 ft of pipelines and 165 tap stands. This has revolutionized and changed the lives of the natives of Paraxaj by providing freshwater for the first time in their lives. Our work was recognized by the national EWB organization and awarded the EWB-USA Exceptional Project Award.

SAINT ANTHONY FALLS LABORATORY RESEARCH - ANALYTICAL CHEMIST

Under the guidance of Professor Gulliver, I approached the problem of toxic chemicals (excess phosphorus and nitrogen) in Minnesota lakes and ponds. With graduate student, Vinicius, we launched over 60 original systems across MN lakes and ponds to continuously collect water samples throughout the summer season. As an experienced analytical chemist, I supervised and led 3 students to independently operate in the lab, from teaching them how to use a LaChat analyzer to field operations.

SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY - PROCESS ENGINEER INTERN

Optimized manufacturing processes of wafers through statistical data control and chemical analysis of read/write heads of hard drives. In my internship, I led a project on the optimization of a nickel-copper plating bath. This has led to significant financial and chemical waste savings for the company. I achieved $330,720 in cost-savings at full capacity, saved 7,300 liters of chemical waste, and increased tool availability by 13% on an annual basis by optimizing an electroplating process between R&D and production teams, meeting financial and sustainability goals. Internship was extended into the fall semester due to the complexity and qualification of the project.

ECOLAB SUSTAINABILITY EXPERIMENTS - CHEMICAL ENGINEER INTERN

Sponsored by Ecolab, I have been assigned a research internship under Professor McCormick to best formulate the chemical composition of oil surfactants (Lecithin and Tween 80) to disperse crude oil in seawater. Applied thermodynamics, ternary phase diagrams, bicontinuous microemulsion, and interfacial tension for optimal formulations.

MIDWEST SUSTAINABLE ENERGY - PROJECT CONSULTANT

Under the RE-AMP Network, I researched different committee processes of utilities that lead to GHG emissions, including state commissions, IOUs, cooperatives, and municipals. At the end of my work, I authored a detailed report, outlining the best approaches for energy. I also helped published an article by RE-AMP and leaders showcasing the entire energy industry's approaches and affect on GHG emissions and lower-income neighborhoods.

MULTI-TECH SYSTEMS - MANUFACTURING ASSOCIATE

Utilizing lean manufacturing principles, I maximized the productivity and quality of electronic manufacturing of circuit boards, through programming, soldering, and circuit testing. Through failure analysis, I reported to the manufacturing engineer manager to improve production processes. Through the 5 months of employment, the manufacturing team and I achieved a 100% functional testing OBA circuit boards pass rate average over 6 months, tracking 99% on-time deliveries to customers.

MICHIGAN CHEMISTRY COUNCIL - PROJECT CONSULTANT

I analyzed and consulted the best sustainability practices of 20 major chemical and energy corporations, including 3M, BASF, Pfizer, and more. I also discovered improvements in the industry, generated ideas, gathered data, proposed alternatives, and implemented a solution. Conclusions are being showcased to the Michigan legislative, pursuing a more sustainable Michigan chemistry industry.

SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY - PROCESS ENGINEER INTERN

I managed multiple projects throughout my internship. One, I oversaw a multi-million dollar CMP defect project, designing and executing experiments between Minnesota and Springtown. I optimized the CMP process in wafer cleaning in a semiconductor tool by significantly reducing the number of contamination defects in each outgoing wafer by 51.6% and 25.7% in Springtown, achieving a 48.0% lower wafer fail rate. In addition, I decreased the tool process time by 9%, saving 30.2 hours/day in the wafer cycle. Two, I developed an automation system to measure and sustain a chemical process for a plating bath in the cleanroom. This work resulted in $62,500 in labor savings on an annual basis. Finally, I optimized the in-wafer uniformity of electroplating thickness, which resulted in 13.1% more planar within wafers in a production line.

UPKEY VIP - SUMMER INTERN

I deep-dived into entrepreneurship, innovation, consulting, strategic analysis, leadership skills, and career readiness from industry experts. I also collaborated with scholars and interns internationally on industry-based projects, finishing with a capstone project, creating an innovative idea: edible cutlery. At the end of the internship, I was selected 1 of 10 out of 3000 global interns to be part of the altTEAM, recognized for exceptional project work.

180 DEGREES CONSULTING - STRATEGY CONSULTING DIRECTOR

As a strategy consultant, I strategized and consulted an MN start-up, We Sparkle, increasing customer engagement and composing a financial model, projecting future revenues, customer retention, and optimal business strategy. Several months later, I was appointed as Consulting Director in the MN branch, managing client relationships, guiding 14 strategy consultants, and overlooking 2 projects: The FootPrint Project and Climastry.

DESIGN U - CONSULTING DIRECTOR FOR RESEARCH & STRATEGY

As a project lead, I led and managed a team of 4 consultants, researching, advising, and strategizing the MN Sustainable Growth Coalition, a business-led public-private partnership harnessing their expertise to advance the next frontier of corporate sustainability. Several months later, I was appointed as Consulting Director, managing client relationships, guiding 9 consultants, and overlooking 3 projects: Sustainable Growth Coalition, Minnovation Center, and Impact Hub.

ACCENTURE - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

Taking a side step from chemical engineering, I decided to start my career in management consulting at a Fortune 500 consulting firm.

Staffed at a Major Utilities Client, performing large scale Work Management System technology transformation. Engaged with Senior Directors / VP / C-Suite to strategize and rollout the strategy for the client to realize client within the coming years. This work would be critical for field workers and office managers to work seamless - in the harmony of people, process, and technology.

As a result of my work, I have analyzed and realized $200M of assets of the client to hit the financial books to allow for better financial forecasting.

COMPASS PRO BONO - MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

Putting my Management Consulting in use to give back to my local community, I was placed on a project to create a strategy and implementation plan for a local Senior Services client to increase and diversify their non-profit funding.

In this role, I collaborated with the client's board members, including SVP and C-Suite of Fortune 500 companies.

As a result of our work, our strategy would enable the client to better compete in the Senior Services non-profit market in Minnesota and to be signficantly less reliant on goverment funding sources.
